Updates

GlobeTrotter now connects to its update server, downloads and installs updates automatically. 

Troubleshooting:

If your software is unable to connect to the update server please verify the following:
  • that you your computer has an connection to the internet. Try opening your web browser. If you are able to surf the internet then your connection is functioning
  • that you are not blocked from FTP sites by your firewall. Most personal computer firewalls allow FTP access while some corporate firewalls may block this service. Contact your system administrator.
  • that your firewall application protection has allowed GlobeTrotter access to the internet.
  • that you are not behind a proxy server (corporate networks)
     
    Notes:

    If you have many updates to install you can install them incrementally at different times. Click on the "Only the next file" to download to install one at a time.

    Do not shut your computer off during the update process as it may cause damage to the database. You can click the "Cancel" button to halt the downloading of a file. This button has no effect once the import process has begun.
