Updates
GlobeTrotter now connects to its update server, downloads and installs updates automatically.
Troubleshooting:
If your software is unable to connect to the update server please verify the following:
that you your computer has an connection to the internet. Try opening your web browser. If you are able to surf the internet then your connection is functioning
that you are not blocked from FTP sites by your firewall. Most personal computer firewalls allow FTP access while some corporate firewalls may block this service. Contact your system administrator.
that your firewall application protection has allowed GlobeTrotter access to the internet.
that you are not behind a proxy server (corporate networks)
Notes:
If you have many updates to install you can install them incrementally at different times. Click on the "Only the next file" to download to install one at a time.
Do not shut your computer off during the update process as it may cause damage to the database. You can click the "Cancel" button to halt the downloading of a file. This button has no effect once the import process has begun.
